Ballad of a Small Player is a psychological thriller directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Edward Berger (All Quiet on the Western Front, Conclave), based on the acclaimed novel by Lawrence Osborne.

Set against the dazzling backdrop of Macau's casinos, the film follows Lord Doyle, a charismatic gambler living on borrowed time as mounting debts and the shadows of his past threaten to catch up with him. When he encounters the enigmatic Dao Ming, Doyle is drawn into a journey of reckoning, forcing him to confront addiction, guilt and the possibility of redemption.
